Grievance and Disciplinary complaints
Grievance and disciplinary procedures are there to help you deal fairly and consistently with the full range of issues regarding employee misconduct and complaints from employees about the workplace. When there is a possible work disciplinary or grievance issue, the employer should ensure that the matter is properly investigated to see if there us a case to answer and make sure everyone is treated fairly. If the employer does not carry out a reasonable investigation, any decisions they make in the disciplinary or grievance case are likely to be unfair. This could risk legal action.
We have considerable experience in working with organisations both large and small, working closely with the relevant HR department where one exists, to ensure that grievance and disciplinary investigations are conducted fairly and in line with the Acas Code of Practice. With experience of investigating serious allegations of bullying and sexual misconduct, our approach always puts the welfare of those involved at the centre of our process. And when it is appropriate, you can tap into our mediation services, meaning that matters which could otherwise involve a drawn-out grievance procedure or escalation to a Tribunal can be dealt with in a collaborative way by a neutral third person.
